Divsion 3’s top 2 Abbeydale G and Clifton A both continued their excellent form in week 11 as Abbeydale defeated Crookes E 8-2 with Ron Lindsay unbeaten and Clifton A beat 2 man Crookes G 9-1.  Vulcan G kept in touch in third place with a close 6-4 win at home versus Abbeydale E. Alan Hollingworth unbeaten on the night for the hosts. Hallam Grange B took the final 2 sets to earn a 5-5 draw away to Abbeydale F, Alastair Nunn taking a hat trick for the hosts.

In Division 2 Northern General  A continued their 100% record despite having 2 players with a 6-4 victory away at Swallownest A. Northern General B couldn’t replicate that result against Swallownest B as a Dave Kirkup treble set Swallownest on the way to a 8-2 victory. James Houghton took a comfortable maximum for the loss of only 1 game as his Vulcan D team beat Crookes D 9-1.

Division 4’s top 2 Albert Premier C and Shiregreen B swapped places at the top of the table as Albert Premier C lost away to Vulcan H 7-3. This opened the door for Shiregreen B to move to the top of the table and they did just that with a 8-2 victory over Abbeydale H, Gary Crapper and Gordon Davis both unbeaten for Shiregreen. High Green A got a welcome point away to Cricketers with Mick Large taking a hat trick. Dronfield slipped further back at the foot of the table with another close defeat losing 6-4 at Abbeydale J.

Telecom A took both points in their trip to 2 man Crookes J in division 5. Top of the table Hallam Grange C won 7-3 away to High Green B. Vulcan L registered a fine win over HSBC A, Luke Burgess, Lewis Fox and an unbeaten James Chenery combined to secure a 6-4 win.

Division 6 saw Telecom B’s trio of Geoff Drury, Dave Bell and Liz Fox beat Tapton Hill A 6-4. The league leaders Shiregreen D whitewashed Wadsley Bridge C 10-0. John Pilling will have felt unlucky to be on the losing side as his fine treble wasn’t enough for Hallam Grange E to come away from Wadsley Bridge D with anything as they were beaten 6-4. Trevor Parsons take the final and decisive 10th set for Wadsley Bridge D.
