Rotherham Scorpions ‘A’ are the early leaders in the top flight of the Sheffield summer league; following a 6-4 winning cliff hanger on a visit to Clifton ‘A’ for who Zoltan Kulics took a maximum and the doubles. The visitors finally gathered both points with braces from Jamie Hudd, Alex Bland and Adam Szabo. This victory was underpinned with a pedestrian whitewash over a visiting Hallam Grange side, with Hudd being replaced by Aaran Radford.

In Division One, Albert Premier ‘A’ have made an unblemished start to their campaign with a 6-4 win over Vulcan ‘C’ in which Chris Hoole and Kieran Alvey went unbeaten. This win was preceded by two other 6-4 score lines against Abbeydale ‘C’ and Scorpions ‘B’ where Chris Hoole (9/9) continued his unbeaten run.

Wadsley Bridge ‘A’ currently top Division Two thanks to an 8-2 result over Tapton ‘A’ at Hillsborough. Newly qualified coach Steve Cross took a hat trick alongside his son Jack who faired just as well. Jim Kenny teamed up with Jack to win the doubles after he had accounted for Jan Macierewicz. Steve and Jack also went undefeated in singles on a tricky night at Hallam Grange ‘B’ where the visitors took the plaudits with a 6-4 result.

Abbeydale ‘B’ lead the third tier with a 100% record from a squad featuring Phil Wright, David Elliott, Ron Austin, John Warwick and Neil Evans-Mudie.

Week One resulted in an 8-2 home win over Hallam Grange ‘C’ with Wright notching a treble, followed by a handsome 9-1 win at Wadsley Bridge ‘B’ in which Warwick and Evans-Mudie went unbeaten.
